Nicaragua to host the Central America Tourism & Hotel Investment Exchange

The Central America Tourism & Hotel Investment Exchange (CATHIE) has selected Nicaragua as site for the upcoming event in March 2009.

The event will gather more than 250 travel industry and hotel leaders interested in familiarizing themselves with investment opportunities.

The travel industry of the country has been one of the most dynamic economic sectors of the country over the last 10 years.

Last year, tourism generated $280 million with tourism arrivals of 770 thousand visitors; to date this year, tourism revenues exceed $130 million.
